The Death of a Loved One

Post by Guest on Fri Jun 24, 2016 10:10 pm

I recently ran into this article online and I think it's a great way to summarize it. I've lost all of my grandparents, aunt, 5 cousins, several friends, uncle a few months ago, and my mother. It may be very overwhelming especially for a teenager like myself, but I had a few things that keep me going. The support of my friends and professors. In fact, some of them are looking out for me. Earlier today, they do care about me since they asked me about my EU citizenship status. This may sound silly, but I also usually look up to fictional characters like Anakin Skywalker, Naruto, Batman, Daryl, and others for inspirational. It's like how they overcame their struggling and overcoming the death of loved ones in order to become a better person. They became a hero and that ideal I thrive to become the one.

A few months ago, when I lost my uncle, my cousins were very devastated just as much as I was with my mother a few years ago. I confronted my cousin about it and I hate saying "I'm sorry for your loss" in a half-assed tone as everybody says that by default. But instead, I told him something like... He may be gone, but all he can do is cherish his memories and his father will be still alive in his heart. And he should be encouraged to do something his father used to do just to honor him... To keep that memory alive.

Yeah, losing a loved one is very difficult. It still hurts to think about my mother and how much I miss her every day. And no, I don't want you guys to feel sorry for me. Life must goes on, as is my hope to have a bright future soon. So do you guys too.

Very true Gary, life does go on, but it is much easier to deal with when you have the support of family, or friends that you know will be there 24/7 if you need to talk.

This post you did I am sure will be beneficial to a lot of people.

Article makes a lot of sense, and helps others if they have a loss, also gives inspiration that when life knocks you down, you get right back up and deal with it.

It does make you think how you would handle someone close that dies, it also makes you think about how to talk to other people that have lost someone,

I found out I'm a stronger person than I thought I was, but God it hurts like hell.
