The Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) that Discord uses is to make sure they have pretty tight security inside the chat rooms for everyone that is a member.
Some people prefer just logging in with their email, and going through the hassle every so often of verifying their address if their IP changes.
I use the 2FA because of the control powers I have in the room. But if you use it like me, remember one thing, if you lose your codes, there is nothing I can do or Discord can do to let you back in the room, you will have to register again,.
Here is what Discord says on this subject:
[Unfortunately, if you don't have the back up codes. We can't get the account back for you adding 2FA is meant to be extreme security]

Here are some tips if you use 2FA, and things that I do:

1. Download your codes to your laptop
2. Take a photo of your codes and store them on your phone
3. Download the codes to the Cloud too since everything in the Cloud should always be there.

cyclops

Hmmmm.....I Tried Out That 2FA Thingy & Couldn't Stand It....!

My ISP Is Pretty Stable & I Rarely Sign In, At Another Location.....So The Regular Email & Password System Works Best For Me....!

Conversely, I Have My Email Bookmarked For Easy Access, If Ever I Need To Do A Verification.....!
